Alan Schaller
Alan Schaller was born in 1988 in London, where he still lives today. He took up photography in 2015 as a past time, only to find his work published only one year later in magazines and newspapers in the UK. Since then his portfolio and profile have gone from strength to strength, and today he is regarded as one of the most renowned photographers of his generation. Described by Leica as "an icon of contemporary black and white photography" and by TeNeues publishing as "setting the standards in modern street photography", his work is known for its strong contrast and focus on shape and form, and focus on life in urban environments.
Where Schaller’s Aesthetic Meets Japanese Tradition
This special strap blends Alan Schaller's visual style with the Japanese craftsmanship of ARTISAN&ARTIST*. It features a flat silk "Yurugi-gumi" cord from a historic Kyoto workshop, offering both comfort and stability.
Inspired by Alan’s monochrome world, the front design repeats the 35mm film perforation motif. The back features "Kuro-Yagasuri," a traditional Japanese arrow pattern in black. It’s a perfect harmony of classic and contemporary design.
Two Lengths to Suit Every Style
In response to your feedback, this edition is available in two sizes: Standard (980mm) and Long (1,200mm). While the previous release was only available in the long version, this new lineup accommodates a wider range of shooting styles and cameras.
The Long version is perfect for wearing around the neck or cross-body, keeping your camera naturally positioned. It’s ideal for street photography, traveling, or long events, allowing for smooth handling and comfort during extended use.
